I used to have a vintage hat shaped like that. It was brown angora (not knit tho), with a band and subtle bow. Which makes me think of the time I went into a quaint chapeau shop in Chelsea and told the antiquated old dame running things that it's such a shame no one wears hats any more. I was lucky to leave the store with my head in tact, she nearly bit it right off.
